Mr.Gondrong-Photography - Miniature Scenes With A Darkly Satirical Twist by Frank Kunert -German photographer Frank Kunert built a miniature scene that at first glance looks like a casual description of the daily domestic and urban settings. But after glancing at the photographs longer, one can dissect the strange anomalies found in the playground, the kitchen, and the garden, noting that the half pipe has a tennis court sign and the children's slides lead directly to the busy highway.
"On the surface, these photographs face us all with the empty words, slogans and talents we face in our daily lives. "The stereotypical and unreasonable aspects of human communication can not be unveiled more convincingly than in literal conversion into visual media."
His works are part of the Kunert's Photographs of Small Worlds series, a handmade model that plays with audience perception through the use of dazzling bends. Each set of miniatures is made for several weeks for months, and is not captured until they can perfectly convey a scene without digital help.
Kunert's upcoming solo exhibition at the Boppard Museum from 10 to 28 January 2018 has the same name as his latest photo book, Wunderland. You can see more miniature works and past photo books on the site. (Via ThissisColossal)
